My Finnish Calendar is a collection of songs by the composer Iiro Rantala where he presents an overview of the yearly weather conditions in Finland, a country known for its rather harsh climate. Much like Vivaldi, Iiro Rantala was inspired by the seasons – and Finland is typically home to at least four of these every
year. Each song has been imbued with the Finnish soulscape, which is closely linked to the weather at hand and nearly always focuses on an acute feeling of disappointment.
