Anne Sofie von Otter

Mezzosoprano Anne Sofie von Otter is one of today’s most recorded artists with an unrivalled discography built across a career spanning more than three decades at the very top of her profession in opera, concert and recital. In 2015 von Otter was awarded with Grammy Award (Best Classical Solo Vocal Album).

An ever-evolving repertoire has played a key role in sustaining Anne Sofie von Otter’s international profile with recent new roles including ia. Leocadia Begbick (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and Countess Geschwitz in Christoph Marthaler’s production of Lulu at Staatsoper Hamburg. A busy concert schedule continues to take Anne Sofie von Otter around the world and she was part of two recent special events commemorating both the 100th anniversary of Mahler’s death, and celebrating the 150th anniversary of Sibelius’ birth. Von Otter’s 19/20 operatic season includes the premiere of her latest special project “Ich wollt ich wär ein Huhn” and Kaija Saariaho’s Passion de Simone.
